plans for the future

Finished Dallas McCoy number one for Emerald City Comicon and was even able to have the book for the show. Big thanks to Ron McCain for all the wonderful artwork he provided for the story. Went to Stumptown Comic fest in Portland over this last weekend and did pretty well. brian was there as well showing off his new project Mash Tun, an anthology of great artists and writters of the pacific northwest. Mackenzie showed off her short story with her creation Dr Zombie, and it also had a new story from Erik Thompson about the Mysterious Suit. Going to be working on updates and other general info.

Ah November…

The year is finally coming to a close…for me it has been a crappy/good year. Lots of changes in my personal life and trying out new things. Reconnecting with old friends and saying goodbye to some new ones. I had a feeling this year was going to be one of my hardest as in January I had to put down one of my dogs…that did not bode well for the rest of the year. At least I am finally employed this year and I am really enjoying my job and co-workers. Still working on taking pictures and also working on the dallas story. Came up with a silent movie edition–all art no words just to see what people would think…didn’t do horribly but wasn’t fantastic. I am hoping next year will be better and as I only have two months of the year of suckage left, Hoping for some good memories to end with.  Will have the new book by ECCC and hopefully the second in the can and the third partially written. And thats that…

Update

ECCC was a total blast! We met some great people and had some laughs. Mash Tun was a great start and encourage Ron McCain and I to rethink how we are going to be doing the Dallas comic. In other news I have been to a couple of photo shoots and as soon as I make sure they are the most awsome they can be, I will be posting them on my site. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and said hello, and our next con for the year will be Stumptown comicfest in Portland. Hope to see you there.

Getting Closer….

Looks like ECCC is only a month away…and things are going to be jumping. Good guests this year with a few of my personal*ahem* faves, like James Marsters (SQUEEEEE), Nicholas Brendon (SQUEEE x2) and  others of course. First six issues of Dallas McCoy number one will be in a new creation called Mash Tun—don’t ask me about the spelling apparently it’s a beer thing—while we get issue 2 and 3 together.

Here is a happy holiday wish to everyone!

The Day After

So I hope everyone had a pleasent and very filling Turkey day. After the snow we had, our Turkey day ended up being a smaller party than it had begun as.  But it was all good. We had turkey, and corn, and cheesy biscuits, and pumpkin pie, and (as my son called them) super smash brothers smashed potatoes.  Will hope to finish up writing issse one by the end of this month and then get going on issue two. But I will have it ready for ECC!!! Still must be suffering from turkey coma as my head feels like I am moving very slowly. FYI, finally got a page for Dallas McCoy set up on Facebook, so if you  have moment to spare check it out.

Jet City

So for those who may have missed it…Jet City Comic Show was yesterday and it was a blast. Nice mellow crowd, plenty to see and buy, and elbow room to just wonder. A true comic delight. Many thanks for those who stopped by the booth to check out my new Dallas McCoy artist, Ron McCain. I hope he had as much fun as I did.  kudos to Mackenzie Meredith and Eric Thompson for doing some great sales and also for continuing work on the wonderful Doctor Zombie books. Sean Dietrich was there talking up his new kids book and another book by a friend who lived in New Orleans after Katrina. Check out his site for more info. Again thanks to all those who stopped by. The next show for me (and MicroBrew/Rorschach) will be at Emerald City Comicon. By then we should have the new Dallas book finished for sure. Looking forward to seeing you there. Remember to email if you like what you read.

More like a wait…

So Dallas McCoy #1 will be not happening until Emerald City Comicon. Why, you may ask? Well because my summer was busier than I thought it would be. Working on the story and also trying to get another project going. And that is all she wrote…

San Diego ComiCon

So spent the weekend at SDCC…not chained to a table for once but able to move freely (yeah right) throughout the convention. I had a blast and picked up some new reading materials. Ogled a few hot movie stars (okay one really, but I kept walking back and forth stalker style to make sure I had my eye candy for the next year) met some really nice people and had a great time. I will have the new Dallas series started by September and will be showing it (hopefully) at Jet City Comic Show and will keep working on some side stuff that I have running races in my head. Big thanks to Sean Dietrich and his lovely lady Racheal for tolerating me for a couple of days and mucj Love to my friend Carrie to made me feel like one of her crew…The Butterfly Gang.  All in all a great time and looking forward to trying it again next year.
